Canadian flag consists of three vertical strips. Left and right are red stripe and are the same size. Center stripe is white and in the middle it has a red 11-pointed maple leaf emblem.
In 1921, the official colors of the Canadian flag was declared by King George. The red color is taken from the cross of St. George and the color white comes from the French royal emblem.
The Canadian flag is also known as the Maple Leaf flag and was inspired by the flag of the Royal Military College of Canada.
French nickname for the Canadian flag is “L’Unifolié”, which means that one leaves.
