Crocodiles are reptiles from the family of crocodiles, which actually also includes, alligators, caimans and an Indian Gharial. Crocodiles usually traced back to the Cretaceous and Triassic period. Crocodiles, in general, are allowed to elongate body and a long tail, lengthy jaws with which they show a great number of sharp conical teeth (typically from 28 to 32 teeth in the upper jaw and 30-40 teeth in lower jaw).
Crocodiles are the semi-aquatic creatures (they will spend most of their time in the water, but additional go to the shore for soaking), which, depending on the species can be found in rivers, estuaries, coastal areas and the sea.
Crocodiles are carnivores, and among them the big hunters like the Nile crocodile and the Saltwater crocodile. Saltwater crocodile are certainly the largest reptile in existence, since it can well attain by seven meters in length and more than one ton (1000 kg) in weight.
As a young, they feed on small animals (insects, fish, frogs), but as they get bigger, they start to hunt animals ever bigger, and more to the size of a big antelope.
