In Jamaica, the national flag was raised at first on Independence Day on August 6, 1962. This symbolizes the birth of Jamaican nation. Jamaica Flag reminds memories of past achievements and provides inspiration for further success. It is flown on many triumphal cases, showing the pride that Jamaicans have in their country and in the flag.
The bipartisan committee of the Jamaican House of Representatives has developed the Jamaican flag, which consists of a diagonal cross with four triangles, arranged side by side. Diagonal cross of gold; the upper and lower triangles of green color; and hoist and fly (side) triangles are black.
