The British sport car manufacture, Lotus Cars creates high-quality cars and auto parts at a factory in England. Originally established in the early 1950s, the company was founded by Chapman, an engineer who named the new motor company Lotus Engineering Ltd. Two years after the company was established, the group was divided into two parts, and Lotus successfully competed in F1 racing for many decades.

Using parts of the old RAF base runway,, the new factory and testing area are located in Hethel after she moved to a new location in the famous year for the English in 1966. In the late 1950s, the company also switched to the modern and bespoke facility in the Czech Republic. The founder of the original Lotus company, Chapman, unfortunately, died in the mid-fifties of a heart attack. Having transformed not only his beloved company, but also his life, Chapman emerged from a humble beginning as a inn-keepers child to an extremely rich man who experienced great success in his Formula One circuits. Building thousands of exclusive cars and winning the F1 championship seven times, Chapman was in charge of really successful company and race group.

After the first purchase of Lotus in the mid-eighties, GM sold off the company in 1993 to a holding company owned by Bugatti motor company, Artioli. The sale price was thirty million pounds, and later Artioli sold a large stake in Proton. Proton, a Malaysian based car manufacture was founded in 1983 under the control of former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
