Margaret Constance Williams (born April 15, 1997) is an English actress who made her television debut on HBO’s TV series Game of Thrones. She plays the role of Arya Stark of the House of Winterfell. She was part of the initial starring cast and remained a main cast of the eighth season.

Maisie is a right-handed, but plays Arya as her left-handed, as in novels.

Maisie’s native village is Clutton in Somerset. The audition day for Game of Thrones was on the same day that her school trip having a field trip to the local pig farm. She almost missed the skipped the audition because, she wanted to see the pig farm (and did not think that she would get the part anyway) but in the end decided to go for an audition.

Maisie Williams has not read books but read a summary of what happened to Arya in later books. She stated that she chose not to read books because the television adaptation abbreviates out a lot of material. She was worried that she might go confused, based on reactions on points from books that did not exist for Arya in the television version.

On May 11, 2017, it was announced that Williams would play Wolfsbane in the next installment of the X-Men franchise, New Mutants.

Wolfsbane is a mutant capable of becoming a werewolf (so she still plays the wolf girl after Game of Thrones). Williams joins her on-screen sister, Sansa, in the X-Men universe, after Turner was cast as the young Jean Grey (a telepath) in the movie X-Men: Apocalypse.
