Marvel’s Avengers is an upcoming action-adventure video game developed by Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montréal and released by Square Enix. This is the first time Crystal Dynamics has embarked on a non-Tomb Raider franchise project since the launch of the Snowblind project in 2005. Based on the Marvel Comics Avengers superhero team, it is inspired by the continued mythology of comics and adaptation in other media, although this has nothing to do with the 2012 film of the same name.

The game will be released for Stadia, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on September 4, 2020.

At certain points in the game, the game can be played offline in single player mode or online with up to four people. The game will include many settings, including abilities and costumes, which can be updated using the skill tree. Costumes are collected from the entire Marvel universe and can be purchased separately as DLC. Players will also be able to receive free updates containing new regions and characters.

Marvel’s Avengers features a large roster of characters drawn from the Marvel Universe, consisting primarily of the title team members and other superheroes, such as Captain America (Jeff Schine), Iron Man (Nolan North), Hulk (Troy Baker/Darin De Paul), Black Widow (Laura Bailey), Thor (Travis Willingham), Hank Pym, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel (Sandra Saad). During the game, the heroes come into conflict with several supervillains; among them are the Abomination and Taskmaster.

In January 2017, a teaser for the announcement of the game was released on the Marvel Entertainment YouTube channel. The game was called The Avengers Project.

On October 1, 2019, Virgin Media announced that it would become the exclusive telecommunications partner of Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics for Marvel’s Avengers.
