Selena Gomez born July 22, 1992 in Texas. She was named after the famous Tejano singer Selena. Her parents divorced when she was five years old, and then she was raised primarily by her mother. Selena Gomez began her acting career at the age of seven on the children’s show Barney and Friends. In 2004, she was signed by Disney Channel after the national talent exploration campaign.
