Tyler Garcia Posey (born October 18, 1991) is an American actor, musician, director, producer and model best known for his role as Scott McCall in the MTV series Teen Wolf (2011-2017).

Posey was born in Santa Monica, California, for actors/writers John Posey and Cyndi Terese Garcia. He grew up in Santa Clarita, California. Posey has two brothers. Derek and Jesse.

His Mexican-born mother died of breast cancer in December 2014. Teen Wolf Season 5 was dedicated to her memory.

Posey has worked steadily in movies and television. In February 2002, he starred in the movie Collateral Damage. In December of that year, he played Jennifer Lopez’s son in a romantic comedy Maid in Manhattan. He auditioned for Jacob Black’s role in the 2007 Twilight movie series but lost his role to his friend Taylor Lautner. They regularly played the same role as child actors.

In the same year, Posey spoke to a pilot character from Disney’s original cartoon SheZow, which aired on May 4 as part of Shorty McShorts’ Shorts miniseries. In 2012, he starred in the movie “White Frog” with Twilight actor Booboo Stewart. In 2011, Posey played a breakout role as the lead character in the 1985 movie-based MTV television series Teen Wolf. Posey plays high school student Scott McCall. Scott McCall is bitten by a werewolf and must keep this fact secret while protecting his loved ones from supernatural threats and beings. In 2015, he also became co-producer of Teen Wolf’s fifth season.

On May 24, 2017, Posey appeared as Lucas Moreno in Blumhouse supernatural thriller movie Truth or Dare. This movie was released in theaters on April 13, 2018.

On September 25, 2017, it was announced that Posey would be joining the regular role in the third season of the VH1 slasher television series Scream, wehere he played the role of Shane. Shane. The season premiered on July 8, 2019.

On February 20, 2019, it was announced that Posey would star as Michael Emerson in The CW’s reboot series The Lost Boys TV series. On July 29, 2019, it was announced that CW was dissatisfied with the pilot and that Posey would be recast along with most of the remaining casts.

On November 18, 2019, Posey will be announced to appear in Netflix’s animated Fast & Furious TV series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, which will premiere on December 26, 2019.

Posey played guitar at the front of the band Disappearing Jamie, formerly known as Lost in Kostko. Their first performance took place in 2012 in Roxy, Los Angeles.
