Xenoblade Chronicles, also abbreviated as Xenoblade, is a series of fantasy and science fiction action role-playing video games developed by Monolith Soft and published by Nintendo. This is part of the Xeno Meta Series created by Tetsuya Takahashi, but formed after Nintendo acquired Monolith Soft. The series started with the original Xenoblade Chronicles game released for Nintendo Wii in 2010. It was a significant success and spawned a sequel.

This series has been very successful commercially. Xenoblade Chronicles is famous for world design, music and stories. Often regarded as one of the best modern RPG series in Nintendo’s game catalog. This series has been featured in other game franchises, such as the Super Smash Bros. and the Project X Zone series.

Xenoblade Chronicles series gameplay uses a real-time action-based battle system. Players move the character manually in real time, and party members “auto-attack” when enemies enter the attack area. Final Fantasy XII or many MMORPG systems. A manual input attack called “art” can also be performed, but with limited methods. Battle Arts are only available after a “cool down” period that occurs each time you use them, while character-specific “Talent Arts” are only available after enough automatic attacks have been performed. The health points of both party members and enemies are finite and attacks run out of this value. If all enemies lose HP, the game is lost, but if the player’s character loses all HP and there is no way to resurrect, the game is lost. Players can use Healing Arts in combat to restore health, or players can automatically regenerate their character’s HP outside of combat. Winning battles earns the player experience and strengthen your character by leveling up and learning new arts. Each character’s arts must be set by the player outside of battles, with their respective settings called the “battle palette”.

Exploring a large environment is a defining aspect of the series.

The games throughout the Xenoblade series do not share a direct connection, but strongly suggest that the universe is linked in some way. Two giant titans, known as Bionis and Mechonis, serve as settings for Xenoblade Chronicles. Xenoblade Chronicles X takes place on an alien planet known as Mira. In Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country, the world of Alrest contains several titans which house many different nations.
