Arsenal Football Club is a professional football club in London, England, based in Islington. Arsenal is a member of the Premier League, England’s top football league. The club has won a record 14 FA Cups, two League Cups, 16 FA Community Shields, the League Centenary Trophy, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, and one Inter-Cities Fairs Cup.

In 1893, Arsenal became the first team from the South of England to enter the Football League, and in 1904, they were promoted to the First Division. They have only been relegated once, in 1913, and have won the second-most top-flight matches in English football history.

Arsenal won five League Championships and two FA Cups in the 1930s and another FA Cup and two League Championships following the war. They won their first League and FA Cup Double in 1970″71. They won five League championships and five FA Cups between 1989 and 2005, including two more Doubles. They had the greatest average league position at the end of the twentieth century.

Arsenal’s fortunes were permanently changed when Herbert Chapman won the club’s first silverware. His legacy led the club to dominate the 1930s decade; unfortunately, Chapman died of pneumonia in 1934 at 55. He was instrumental in implementing the WM formation, floodlights, and shirt numbers, as well as the addition of white sleeves and a brighter red to the club’s uniform. Arsène Wenger is the most decorated manager in Arsenal’s history, having won the most titles. Between 2003 and 2004, his title-winning squad broke an English record for the longest top-flight unbeaten league run, going undefeated in 49 games, earning them the nickname The Invincibles.

Dial Square was created in 1886 by munitions workers at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich. The team moved to Arsenal Stadium at Highbury in 1913, becoming close neighbors with Tottenham Hotspur and establishing the North London rivalry. They relocated to the adjacent Emirates Stadium in 2006. Arsenal was valued at US$2.68 billion by Forbes in the 19″20 season, with yearly income of ,388 million, making it the world’s ninth most valuable club. It is also one of the most followed on social media. Victoria Concordia Crescit, Latin for “Victory Through Harmony,” has been the club’s slogan for many years.

David Danskin, a Scotsman, and fifteen other munitions workers in Woolwich established Dial Square Football Club in October 1886, named after a workshop in the Royal Arsenal complex. To help create the club, each member gave sixpence, plus Danskin added three shillings. Dial Square defeated Eastern Wanderers 6″0 in their debut encounter on December 11, 1886.

A month later, the club changed its name to Royal Arsenal, and its initial home was Plumstead Common, though they spent much of their time at the Manor Ground. The Kent Senior Cup and London Charity Cup in 1889″90 and the London Senior Cup in 1890″91 were Arsenal’s first trophies; these were the only county association trophies they won throughout their tenure in South East London. Royal Arsenal was the first London team to turn professional in 1891.

When the Royal Arsenal became a limited liability corporation in 1893, it was renamed a second time. When the club ascended later that year, they registered their new name, Woolwich Arsenal, with the Football League. Woolwich Arsenal was the Football League’s first southern member, debuting in the Second Division and progressing to the First Division in 1904. Due to financial troubles among munitions workers and the introduction of more accessible football teams elsewhere in the city, the club was on the verge of going out of business by 1910. Henry Norris and William Hall, both businessmen, were interested in the club and attempted to relocate it.
