Batman: Arkham Origins is an action-adventure video game developed by Warner Bros. Montréal and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC (Microsoft Windows). The game is the third entry in the popular Batman Arkham mythos and serves as the prequel to the first series of “Batman: Arkham Asylum”. The game was released on October 25, 2013.

The game’s released in Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita spin-off called Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, an 2.5-D Metroid-style exploration action game, set after the events of Arkham Origins, developed by Armature Studio. There is also a version of the game for iOS and Android, the same as Injustice.

The game is played in the third-person perspective, paying special attention to Batman’s combat and secretive abilities, detective skills, as well as combat and reconnaissance tools. In addition to the main story, Batman can help the police deal with crimes and encounter other guards who terrorize the city. Arkham Origins represents the possibility that Batman reproduces the crime, allowing him to investigate the scene and identify the culprit. The game is the first in a series with multiplayer features. WB Games Montreal has committed Arkham Origins to develop the Rocksteady Studios series.

Although the game received generally positive reviews, it was criticized for technical problems, reproducing the contents of previous Arkham games and changing it unnecessarily, while the multiplayer aspect was considered an unnecessary addition to the series. Arkham Origins Blackgate Bat was released along with Arkham Origins for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita, and the mobile game for iOS and Android platforms was released in October 2013.
