A bracelet is a piece of jewellery worn on the wrist. Bracelets can be used for a variety of purposes, such as jewellery. When worn as jewellery, bracelets can serve as an auxiliary function while retaining other decorative items such as charm. Medical and identity information is found on some bracelets, such as allergy bracelets, hospital patient labels, and newborn bracelets. Bracelets can be worn to mark a specific phenomenon, such as breast cancer awareness or religious/cultural purposes.
If the bracelet is a single inflexible loop, it is often called a bangle. When worn on the ankle, it is called an ankle bracelet or anklet. The boot bracelet is used to decorate boots. In common parlance, handcuffs are sometimes called bracelets. Bracelets can be made from metal, leather, cloth, plastic, beads, other materials, and jewelry bracelets that sometimes contain jewelry, rocks, wood, shells, crystals, metal or plastic hoops, pearls, and many other materials.
The history of Egyptian bracelets dates back to 5000 BCE. They start with materials such as bones, stones, and woods to serve religious and spiritual interests.
