Fortnite is an online video game developed by Epic Games and released in 2017. It comes in three separate versions of the game mode, that otherwise use the general gameplay and game engine.

Fortnite: Save the World, a game for co-shooting to survive up to four players to fight zombie-like creatures and protect fortified objects that they can build.

Fortnite Battle Royale, a free royal battle in which up to 100 players fight to be the last person standing.

Fortnite Creative, where players are given complete freedom to create worlds and battle arenas.

The first two game modes were released in 2017 as early versions for access, and Creative was released on December 6, 2018. Save the World is only available for Windows, macOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, while Battle Royale and Creative have been released for these platforms, in addition to Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android devices.

Although all game modes have been successful for Epic Games, Fortnite Battle Royale has made tremendous success, drawing more than 125 million players in less than a year, earning hundreds of millions of dollars per month, and has since become a cultural phenomenon.

What is Fortnite, and Why is It So Popular?

The game has cartoonish aesthetics, no blood or adult content. Each player can fulfil an emote – which is a signal or a taunt of other players. There are Floss, Dance Moves, The L, Best Mates and Llama Bell. Some of them are automatically given to the player, others can be purchased in the game, and some can be earned.

The map of the island is the same all the time, but this game mode runs during the seasons, usually lasting ten weeks. These changes may be radical or minimal, but they affect how players interact with the map of the island and act as a way to bring it all to life and make it different. There are also changes in a limited time when the game mode can unite 50 players against 50 players in two teams and allow them to fight to see who will survive.

Each player can choose a different skin or character that changes their appearance. Some may be associated with films such as Avengers: Infinity War or John Wick, while others may be completely random and have no reference with anything in particular. These skins can be purchased in-game using V-Bucks or Vinderbucks. When a player completes one of the daily quests in Save The World mode, they’ll accrue V-Bucks, in which they can spend to buy skins or upgrade their weapons for the next game.

Another way for players to win V-Bucks is through daily rewards, which are basically rewards you get for playing that day.
