French flag consists of three equal vertical stripes – the left stripe of blue color; middle is white; and the right side is red.

The French flag is based on the red, white and blue cockade (badge concentric circles), which was worn by King Louis XVI, addressing a revolutionary gathering in Paris. King had added to the white cockade as the traditional color of the French royal family. Red and blue are the traditional colors of Paris, the capital of the country.
