Halo Infinite is an upcoming first-person shooter game jointly developed by 343 Industries and SkyBox Labs, released by Xbox Game Studios for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. The game is scheduled to be released in 2020 and is the sixth main entry in the Halo series. Halo 5: continuing the story of Master Chief as the third chapter of “Reclaimer Saga” following Halo 5: Guardians, it will be the sixth game in the franchise with the Master Chief as the main protagonist.

Halo Infinite’s story becomes “much more human”, and the Master Chief plays a more central role than Halo 5: Guardians. In the trailer for E3 2018, the story will be set in a Halo ring, featuring the design of Master Chief Mark VI Armor, returning to the design seen in Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Halo Infinite is developed by 343 Industries using the new Slipspace Engine. According to Microsoft, the Master Chief has returned at Halo Infinite with “the biggest adventure to save humanity.” The announcement trailer was released on June 10, 2015. The developer has stated that all scenes on the Halo Infinite trailer are running on the engine. Halo 5: Since the launch of the Guardians in October 2015, 343 Industries has developed a new game engine—Slipspace Engine. The engine was built so that the development team could fully fulfil the goals of Guardian’s successor, Halo Infinite. Halo Infinite was first presented in engine demonstrations at Microsoft’s E3 2018 conference but is still in a relatively early development phase. Halo Infinite is the first debut of a new art style introduced by Nicolas “Sparth” Bouvier.
