Logan Wade Lerman (born January 19, 1992) is an American actor known for playing a major role in Percy Jackson’s science fiction adventure films. He appeared in commercials in the mid-1990s before starring in the television series Jack and Bobby (2004–2005) and in the films Butterfly Effect (2004) and Hoot (2006). Lerman gained further recognized for his roles in the western part of 3:10 to Yuma, the thriller The Number 23, the comedy Meet Bill, and 2009’s Gamer and My One and Only. He subsequently played d’Artagnan in 2011’s The Three Musketeers, starred in the coming-of-age dramas The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), Indignation (2016) and The Vanishing of Sidney Hall (2017), and had major roles in the 2014 films Noah and Fury. In 2020, he returned to television with the series Hunters.

Lerman had a fond of films from a young age, although he began to start acting “just for fun” and “do something to get out of school.”  He began auditioning for the role in the late 1990s, and first appeared in commercials. He debuted in the movie Patriot in 2000, playing William Martin, one of the children of Mel Gibson’s character. In the same year, he starred in another movie by Mel Gibson, “What Women Want,” playing the character of Gibson in childhood. In 2001, in the movie Riding in Cars with Boys, he played the son of Drew Barrymore. Lerman stated that being in early childhood, he did not have “any conscious understanding of what I was doing or what was happening” and “had no good experience”.

In 2003, Lerman played nine-year-old Luke Chandler in the CBS television movie The Painted House, based on the early life of author John Grisham and staged in Black Oak, Arkansas, in the early 1950s.
