Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg (born June 5, 1971), better known by his stage name Marky Mark, is an actor, producer, businessman, and former rapper from the United States. He has been nominated for two Academy Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, nine Primetime Emmy Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and has won a BAFTA Award.

Wahlberg was born in the year 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts. Wahlberg was a member of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch in the 1990s, with whom he recorded the albums Music for the People (1991) and You Gotta Believe (1993). (1992). With his movie debut in Renaissance Man (1994) and his first leading part in Fear, Wahlberg made the crossover from music to acting (1996). In Boogie Nights, he gained critical acclaim for his portrayal of porn performer Dirk Diggler (1997).

He dabbled with big-budget action films in the early 2000s, such as The Perfect Storm (2000), Planet of the Apes (2001), and The Italian Job (2003). For his role as a police officer in the crime drama The Departed, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor (2006). He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor for his role as Micky Ward in the sports drama biopic The Fighter (2010). He had comedic parts in The Other Guys (2010), Ted (2012), Ted 2 (2015), Daddy’s Home (2015), and Daddy’s Home 2 (2015) in the 2010s (2017). He also starred in Transformers: Age of Extinction and Transformers: The Last Knight, both live-action films in the Transformers franchise. In 2017, he was the highest-paid actor in the world.

Wahlberg was also an executive producer on five HBO shows: Entourage (2004″2011), Boardwalk Empire (2010″2014), How to Make It in America (2010″2011), and Ballers (2015″2019), as well as the documentary McMillions (2020). He is a co-owner of the Wahlburgers restaurant chain, as well as a co-star in the reality TV show about it. In 2010, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg was born in the Dorchester section of Boston, Massachusetts, on June 5, 1971. He is the youngest of nine children, including Robert, an actor, and Donnie, a singer/actor. Alma Elaine (née Donnelly; 1942″2021), his mother, was a bank clerk and a nurse’s aide, and his father, Donald Edmond Wahlberg Sr. (1930″2008), was a delivery driver and a Korean War veteran. Wahlberg’s parents separated in 1982, and he split his time between them after that.

Wahlberg’s father is of Swedish ancestry, while his paternal grandmother is of Irish ancestry. His mother’s ancestors were Irish, English, and French-Canadian. He is distantly connected to novelist Nathaniel Hawthorne on his mother’s side of the family. Wahlberg grew up in Boston, where he attended Copley Square High School on Newbury Street. He had acquired a cocaine and other chemical addiction by the age of 13, and he did not earn his high school certificate until he was 42 years old, in June 2013.
Along with his brothers Donnie and Paul, Wahlberg is a co-owner of Wahlburgers. Mark was the one who came up with the concept of turning Paul’s restaurant in Hingham, Massachusetts, into a full-fledged franchise, complete with a reality show to advertise it.

Wahlberg and his producing partner/manager Stephen Levinson created Ballers Report in 2021, an online platform (and spin-off of their HBO series Ballers) that provides inspirational business, entertainment, and sports articles, videos, and podcasts.
