Nicholas Jerry Jonas is an American singer, songwriter, and actor who was born on September 16, 1992. Jonas began performing in theater at the age of seven, and in 2002, he recorded his debut song, which grabbed the attention of Columbia Records, and he created the Jonas Brothers with his elder brothers, Joe and Kevin. In 2006, the group released their first studio album, It’s About Time, on the Columbia label. In 2007, the trio released their self-titled second studio album, which became their breakout record, after leaving Columbia Records and joining with Hollywood Records.

During this time, the band gained a large following on the Disney Channel, and they appeared in the critically acclaimed musical television films Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010), as well as two of their own series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream (2008–2010) and Jonas (2009–2010).

A Little Bit Longer (2008), the band’s third studio album, enjoyed sustained financial success, with the album’s first song “Burnin’ Up” reaching the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 list. The Jonas Brothers announced a break after the release of their fourth studio album, Lines, Vines, and Trying Times (2009). Nick Jonas & the Administration established a new band in 2010 and released the album Who I Am. Following that, Jonas focused on acting and had a recurring part on the TV show Smash.

Following the group’s official disbandment in 2013, Jonas began work on his second solo studio album, signing with Island Records and releasing Nick Jonas in 2014, with the single “Jealous” being a financial hit. Jonas went on to co-found Safehouse Records, a record label that included the Island and Hollywood labels. Last Year Was Complicated (2016), his third studio album, reached number two on the Billboard 200 list in the United States.

Jonas received the Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016 as a result of the album’s release. Jonas starred in the adventure comedy picture Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017, which went on to become the year’s sixth highest-grossing film. The Jonas Brothers reunited in early 2019, and in June of that year, they released the album Happiness Begins. On March 12, 2021, Jonas’ third solo studio album, Spaceman, was released.

In 2017, he introduced the 1410 shoe series, a partnership with Creative Recreation, a multipurpose sneaker business. In the spring of 2018, he collaborated with John Varvatos on a clothing collection called JV x NJ. Later that year, the two collaborated on a fragrance called JV x NJ. They launched two additional scents in 2019: JVXNJ Red and JVxNJ Silver.

He revealed in September 2019 that he has partnered on an ultra-premium tequila called Villa One with John Varvatos and the spirits behemoth Stoli Group.
