Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace is an American reality television star, entrepreneur, and former professional wrestler who is a WWE Hall of Famer under the ring name Nikki Bella. Bella signed with WWE in 2007 and was assigned to the developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where she formed the Bella Twins with her twin sister Brie Bella. In 2008, she made her SmackDown debut. Nikki Bella is a two-time WWE Divas Champion with the longest reign (301 days).

In November 2015, Bella was crowned Diva of the Year by Rolling Stone, and she was placed No. 1 in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s Female 50. In 2016, she and her sister shared the prize for Choice Female Athlete at the Teen Choice Awards.

Garcia-Colace was born sixteen minutes before her twin sister, Brianna, to parents Jon Garcia and Kathy Colace in San Diego, California, and reared on a farm near Scottsdale, Arizona.

She has Mexican and Italian ancestors. She and her twin sister, both soccer fans, used to play for the Scottsdale club in elementary school. In 2002, she graduated from Chaparral High School. She returned to San Diego for college, where she played soccer for Grossmont College, but a year later moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as a server at the Mondrian Hotel while looking for an agent.

She began modeling, acting, and promotional work after that. On the Fox reality show Meet My Folks, she had her first national television debut. The Garcia twins were appointed as the World Cup Twins for Budweiser after this performance, and were seen carrying the World Cup trophy. Nikki and her sister Brie competed in the “International Body Doubles twins search” in 2006. Nikki and Brie later competed in the WWE Diva Search in 2006, but were not selected.

Brianna made her SmackDown debut as Brie Bella on August 29, 2008, and beat Victoria. She rapidly established a planned rivalry with Victoria and Victoria’s accomplice, Natalya, and competed against them in a series of matches. Brie would roll out of the ring and go beneath it, resurfacing and seeming revitalized, before winning the bout. When Brie climbed under the ring on SmackDown on October 31, Victoria grabbed her legs, but a second pair of legs threw her off, hinting that there was a second person beneath the ring.

Brie won a match against Victoria the following week on SmackDown, then fled under the ring to avoid Natalya and Victoria, but both Victoria and Natalya reached for Brie under the ring, causing Nicole and Brie to be dragged out. After that, the twins assaulted them and cheered. Nicole was renamed Nikki Bella after that. On the November 21 edition of SmackDown, the twins defeated Victoria and Natalya in their first official bout as a team. Over the next few months, they continued to compete in tag team matches.

The twins built an on-screen friendship with The Colóns (Carlito and Primo) beginning in November, appearing in multiple backstage segments with them and accompanying them to the ring.

The narrative was developed in February 2009 to include John Morrison and The Miz, who flirted with the Bellas and took them out on a Valentine’s Day date. The Miz and Morrison and Primo and Carlito teams were pitted against each other on the date, with the four vying for the adoration of the twins, who seemed unable to choose between them.

Carlito and Primo accidently spat apples in the face of Brie on ECW on March 17, while aiming for Morrison and The Miz. Brie began to laugh at Nikki’s predicament, and the two got into a brawl, with Nikki fleeing with The Miz and Morrison while Brie stayed with Primo and Carlito, turning Nikki heel in the process. Brie defeated Nikki in her debut bout the next week on SmackDown in a six-person intergender tag team match. After a distraction by Morrison and The Miz, Nikki pinned Brie in their first singles battle against one other on ECW on March 31.
