Sabrina Annlynn Carpenter (born May 11, 1999) is an American singer and actress signed to Hollywood Records.

Following her debut as an actor on the crime series Law & Order: Special Victims, she played a recurring role as a young version of Chloe Goodwin in the series Goodwin’s Game. Carpenter later played Maya Hart in Disney Channel series Girl Meets World from 2014 to 2017. Carpenter starred in the feature films Horns (2013), The Hate U Give (2018), and starred Jenny in Disney’s Original Movie Adventures on Disney Channel Original Movie Adventures in Babysitting (2016). As a voice actress, she repeatedly played the role of Princess Vivian in the Disney Channel animated series Sofia First from 2013 to 2018. In 2016, she began announcing Melissa Chase on the Disney XD animated series Milo Murphy’s Law.

Carpenter’s debut EP “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying” was released in 2014, and a debut single of the same name was released the same year. She released her debut album Eyes Wide Open in 2015 and has since released three more studio albums: Evolution (2016), Singular: Act I (2018), and her latest studio album, Singular: Act II, was released on July 19, 2019. Carpenter was born on May 11, 1999, in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, the daughter of David and Elizabeth Carpenter and was raised with her three older sisters; Sarah, Shannon, and half-sister Cayla. She is the niece of actress Nancy Cartwright. Carpenter was homeschooled and began posting videos of her singing on YouTube at the age of 10. Her father built a purple recording studio for her to nurture his passion for music. She placed third in the Miley Cyrus vocal competition, Miley Cyrus’s Next Project.

She portrayed the young Merrin in the 2013 film Horns. Carpenter sang “Smile” for Disney Fairies: Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust; The song was broadcast on Disney Radio. Her song “All You Need” “is featured on Sofia’s first soundtrack.

In January 2013, Carpenter landed the role of Maya Hart on Disney Channel’s Girl Meets World alongside Rowan Blanchard. The series is a sequel to the ABC series 1993-2000 boy meets the world. Carpenter has also signed a five-year contract as a music artist with Hollywood Records. On March 14, 2014, Carpenter’s debut single “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying” aired on Disney Radio and was later released on iTunes later that day. This song is the title song of her debut EP, which was released on April 8 and was generally well-received. Carpenter is featured in the Girl Meets World theme song “Take On The World,” which also features her co-star Blanchard.
