For those of us who grew up with Japanese dominance in the television market, it is certainly time now to accept that Koreans are now rightly masters of this field. Gone are the days when Samsung and LG were only seen as cheap alternatives to Sony, Panasonic, and others.

Samsung, in particular, has reinvented itself as an absolute industry leader in many technology sectors, overcoming the challenges of major players such as Apple, Sony, and Panasonic. Since the release of the R71 LCD series around 2005-2006, Samsung has grown steadily, gaining an envious reputation for producing TVs that delivered the perfect blend of style, design, and picture quality. Samsung delivers a wide range of TVs to suit everyone’s budget and requirements.

Plasma TV Line-up

Samsung has scrapped the only regular 43-inch Plasma HD model in the lineup for the past several years, producing no replacement for this year. They can see that the price gap between an LCD / LED screen of this size and a plasma screen is now basically so small it would be easy to switch a customer to a more energy-efficient and higher resolution model for a bit more outlay.

There remains, however, the PS51E450. This is a fairly slim, ordinary 51-inch HD model (in terms of plasma), which includes 2 HDMI inputs and 1 USB input. It is also wireless compatible for easy multimedia sharing between compatible devices.

The next in the lineup is the PS51E531, which is essentially a Full HD version of the E450, but without the wi-fi capabilities. It’s Samsung’s entry into the big Full HD screen. Like the E450, this model is also only available in size 51 “.

Above the E531 comes the E550. With Full HD 1080P, we take advantage of Smart TV features, such as Skype, Web browser, Samsung Apps, as well as Allshare and 3D capability. The clarity of the image in darker scenes is also improved with the introduction of micro-Dimming. The HDMI inputs went from two to three, and we also get an additional USB input – a total of two. There is also no need to use a wireless dongle, as wi-fi is integrated. Direct wi-fi is also a feature included here, which allows you to transfer media via an ad hoc WIFI connection without a router. The E550 is available in 51 “and 64” screen sizes.
