Cotton socks or stockings, have been worn by people on the legs. The word sock w believed to derive from the Latin “soccus”. Roman’s was known to worn soccus and then remove their shoes when indoors as dry feet have a lot to do with the comfort of the overall health and wellness.

In the fifteenth century breeches and hosiery were one piece. They later became known as tights. They were made of colorful silk, wool and velvet.
