The thread is the type of yarn used for sewing. It can be made from a variety of different materials and colors, such as silk, nylon, cotton, linen, and other materials. The three main types of threads are based on their origin, they are animals, plants or synthetic.

Silk

Silk thread is best for wool and silk. It is durable, very elastic and thin in diameter. Silk is also used for sewing, finishing handles, sewing buttons and decorations. Buttonhole about three times the diameter of silk embroidery, lustrous or shiny. It is strong and can be constantly stretched.

Cotton

Nylon

Nylon and polyester yarns are preferred for synthetic and stretchable knitwear. Both types of synthetic fibers have the same features, including no shrinkage, high strength and excellent stretching and recover capabilities that make them suitable for knitted fabrics preshrunk fabrics, and sheers.

These include soft cotton embroidery, a cotton perle that is twisted and has a glossy or pearl like finish, cotton with six thin threads that can be used together or separately for finer stitching, decorative woven, tapestry knit and reinforced yarn for reinforcement and darning.

Thread

Thread can be made from combinations of fibers. The polyester core and the outer sheath of cotton, polyester or rayon, spun polyester which combine the characteristics of the two fibers with the outer fiber, creating the appearance or end of the thread.
