Thomas William Hiddleston (born February 9, 1981) is a British actor. He has won several awards including the Golden Globe Awards and the Lawrence Olivier Awards and has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards.

Hiddleston first earn a double in Classics at the University of Cambridge and then began to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. At the beginning of his career, he starred in the West End productions of Cymbeline (2007) and Ivanov (2008). He received the Olivier Award for Best New Artist in a drama for his role in Cymbeline and was nominated for the same award for his role with Cassio in Othello (2008). Hiddleston starred as the production title character for Coriolanus (2013-2014), was awarded the Evening Standard Theater Award Best Actor and was nominated for the Olivier Award Best Actor. He made his debut on Broadway with the return of betrayal in 2019.

Hiddleston made a movie debut in the drama Unrelated (2007). Cast as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Thor (2011), Avengers (2012), Thor: Dark World (2013), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Loki (2021).

In 2011, he won the Empire’s Best Male Newcomer Award and was nominated for the BAFTA Rising Star Award. He has also Steven Spielberg’s War Horse (2011), Deep Blue Sea (2011), Woody Allen’s romantic comedy Midnight of Paris (2011), the 2012 BBC series Henry IV and Henry V, and the romantic vampire movie Only Lovers Left. He also appeared in film Alive (2013). In 2015, he starred in Guillermo Model Toro’s Crimson Peak, Ben Wheatley’s High Rise, and played problematic country music singer Hank Williams in the biopic I Saw The Light. The film “Kong: Skull Island” (2017) marked the leading role in his first big-budget outside the MCU.

He starred and was an executive producer of the AMC/BBC Limited Series The Night Manager (2016), nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards for the Limited Series or Film Outstanding Starring Actor and the Excellent Limited Series for the first time winning, and won his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film.
