Tyler Garcia Posey (born October 18, 1991) is an American actor, musician, director, producer and model best known for his role as Scott McCall in the MTV series Teen Wolf (2011-2017).

Posey was born in Santa Monica, California, for actors/writers John Posey and Cyndi Terese Garcia. He grew up in Santa Clarita, California. Posey has two brothers. Derek and Jesse.

His Mexican-born mother died of breast cancer in December 2014. Teen Wolf Season 5 was dedicated to her memory.

Posey has worked steadily in movies and television. In February 2002, he starred in the movie Collateral Damage. In December of that year, he played Jennifer Lopez’s son in a romantic comedy Maid in Manhattan. He auditioned for Jacob Black’s role in the 2007 Twilight movie series but lost his role to his friend Taylor Lautner. They regularly played the same role as child actors.

In the same year, Posey spoke to a pilot character from Disney’s original cartoon SheZow, which aired on May 4 as part of Shorty McShorts’ Shorts miniseries. In 2012, he starred in the movie “White Frog” with Twilight actor Booboo Stewart. In 2011, Posey played a breakout role as the lead character in the 1985 movie-based MTV television series Teen Wolf.
