YouTube Creator Awards, also known as YouTube Play Buttons or YouTube Plaques, are a set of awards created by YouTube to honor the most popular channels on the platform. They’re dependent on a channel’s subscriber numbers, but they’re only available at YouTube’s discretion. Before an award is given out, each channel is checked to see if it respects the YouTube community standards. YouTube maintains the right to decline to award a Creator Award, as it has in the past for channels that include horror or political extremism.

A somewhat flat trophy in a metal casing with a YouTube play button emblem is presented to a verified YouTube channel when it meets a certain milestone and is deemed qualified for a YouTube Creator Reward. The awards come in a variety of sizes, with each button and plaque getting bigger as the channel’s subscriber count rises. VidCon 2012 introduced the Silver and Gold awards, while VidCon 2015 featured the Diamond award. The Society Awards, based in New York, are responsible for the Creator Awards.

Silver Creator Award

The Silver Creator Award is given to channels with 100,000 or more subscribers. Nickel-plated cupronickel alloy was used in the previous version. The new form has 92 percent nickel, 5% carbon, and 2.5 percent zinc, with traces of additional metals (as of March 1, 2017). The Silver Play Button’s design was changed in March 2018 from a metal button contained within a window box with the channel’s name printed on the front glass pane to a cleaner-looking flat metal plaque award with the channel’s name embossed on it. At this level, channels can also apply for a digital verification badge.

Gold Creator Award

The Gold Creator Award is given to channels that have at least one million subscribers. It’s constructed of brass that’s been gold-plated. The Gold Play Button’s design was changed in March 2018 from a metal button contained within a window box with the channel’s name printed on the front glass pane to a cleaner-looking flat metal plaque award with the channel’s name embossed on it.

The Diamond Creator Award is given to channels with ten million or more subscribers. It’s composed of silver-plated metal with a big triangle-shaped chunk of colorless crystal in the shape of a play button. When the award was first announced at VidCon 2015, 35 channels were eligible. There are 868 channels with a total of 10 million subscribers as of May 19, 2021.

Custom Creator Award

The Custom Creator Award is given to channels with more than 50 million subscribers. It isn’t included on the page for the Creators Award. Because he received a ruby-colored award in the shape of his channel’s emblem, PewDiePie dubbed it the Ruby Creator Award. However, the color of the prize varies per creator: T-Series received a colorless trophy, whilst Blackpink received a black award on top of a pink foundation. Custom Creator Awards have been awarded to the public by channels with a dagger (dagger) emblem.
