Pencils are in the form of hexagons as graphite, which is in the center of the pencil. The wood starts with two sections, each of which has a long groove. Graphite enters the groove and the two parts are glued together. If these parts have a circular shape, it becomes irritating than to join the two halves in the center of the graphite.
But the hexagonal shape is easier and fuss free (as it has a flat surface, and in a circle round pencil) for clamping the two parts and to connect them with the utmost precision.
Pencils create signs of physical abrasion, leaving behind a trail of solid core material that adheres to a sheet of paper or other surface. They are different from the pens that instead of scattered trail of liquid or gel ink that stain the light color of the paper.
