Austin Richard Post (born July 4, 1995), professionally known as Post Malone, is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, and record producer. Known for his introspective lyrics and laconic vocal style, Malone has gained acclaim for changing a number of genres, including country, grunge, rap, and R&B. He first gained recognition in 2015 with the release of his debut single “White Iverson.” He subsequently signed to Republic Records.

Malone’s debut album Stoney (2016) includes the hit single “Congratulations.” In 2018, the album broke the record for the most weeks on the US Billboard Top R&B / Hip-Hop Albums, reaching its 77th week. His second album Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018), debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and broke several streaming tracks upon release. Featuring singles “Rockstar” and “Psycho” on the Billboard Hot 100, it was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Album of the Year category. In 2018, Malone collaborated with American singer-rapper Swae Lee on the song “Sunflower” for the film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack that peaked on the Billboard Hot 100. His third album, The Hollywood Bleeding, is a dedicated indie-pop song that was released at the end of 2019. It became his second number one album. On the Billboard 200 and includes the single “Circles” from “Hot 100 number one”, which spent a record 39 weeks in the Top 10 Billboard Hot 100.

Malone’s accolades include three American Music Awards, a Billboard Music Award, and an MTV Music Video Award. He has also received six Grammy nominations during his career. In August 2020, Malone became the first solo artist in history to topped the Billboard Rap Airplay and Adult Contemporary charts as a lead artist when Circles ranked number one in the last place, and Rockstar ranked number one in 2017. In addition, reaching number one on the 41st week of the chart, Circles holds the record for the longest climb to number on the adult Contemporary airplay chart among songs by solo artists. Malone received the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Diamond Certificate for Congratulations.

Malone was born on July 4, 1995, in Syracuse, New York. He was raised by his father, Rich Post, and stepmother Jodie. His father was a DJ in his youth and introduced Malone to many genres of music, including hip-hop, country, and rock. When Malone was nine, he and his family moved to Grapevine, Texas, after his father became the manager of concessions for the Dallas Cowboys.
