Accessibility refers to the design of products, gadgets, services, transportation, and surroundings so that individuals with impairments can use them. The notion of accessible design and the practice of accessible development assures “direct access” (i.e., unassisted) as well as “indirect access,” which refers to compatibility with a person’s assistive equipment (for example, computer screen readers).

The “ability to access” and benefit from a system or organization is referred to as accessibility. The notion focuses on facilitating access for persons with impairments or facilitating access via the use of assistive technology; nonetheless, accessibility research and development helps everyone.

Usability, on the other hand, is the degree to which a product (such as a device, service, or environment) can be used by specific users to achieve specific goals with effectiveness, efficiency, and convenience satisfaction in a given context of use.

Accessibility is closely linked to universal design, which is the process of producing goods that can be used by individuals with the largest variety of abilities in the widest range of contexts. It’s all about making things available to everyone (whether they have a disability or not).
