Liam James Payne is an English singer and songwriter who was born on August 29, 1993. As a member of the boy band One Direction, he came to popularity. When he auditioned for the British television show The X Factor in 2008, Payne made his debut as a singer. He auditioned again in 2010 after being ousted from the competition and was placed in a group with four other competitors to form One Direction, who went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Under the names “Big Payno” and “Payno,” Payne collaborated with various producers to create remixes for songs by his band and Cheryl.

Payne secured a recording deal with Republic Records in North America after One Direction’s break. Payne’s debut album’s lead song, “Strip That Down,” was released in May 2017. It was certified platinum in both countries after reaching number three on the UK Singles Chart and number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. In December of this year, his debut album, LP1, was published. Since joining One Direction, he has sold over 18 million singles and 3.9 billion career streams in only two years.

Liam James Payne was born in the Heath Town area of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England, at New Cross Hospital. Karen Payne, an infant nurse, and Geoff Payne, a fitter, are his parents. Nicola and Ruth Payne are his elder sisters. Payne was born three weeks early and suffered from many illnesses. Payne underwent regular medical testing till he was four years old when doctors discovered one of his kidneys was damaged and malfunctioning.

As a kid, he got sixteen injections in his arm every morning and another sixteen every evening to help him cope with the agony. Payne was active in athletics as a student, notably cross country running. Payne began his running career by joining the Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletics Club. Payne stated in an interview that he was once the ‘third best in the country.’

He began boxing classes at the age of twelve after being bullied by some older pupils in high school. Payne studied music technology at Wolverhampton College’s Paget Road campus after completing 11 GCSEs at St Peter’s Collegiate School.

Payne began his career in show business when he was twelve years old as a member of the Pink Productions Theatre Company, where he played Tony Manero from Saturday Night Fever. Payne has previously performed in front of a 26,000-strong audience at a Wolverhampton Wanderers match.
