Professor Severus Snape born (9 January 1960 – May 2, 1998) was an half-blood wizard, who was the son of a witch Eileen Snape (née Prince) and muggle Tobias Snape. Throughout his life, Severus Snape was the Potions Master, defense against the Dark Arts professor and headmaster of Hogwarts (which he attended as a student from 1971 to 1978.) He is also a member of the Order of the Phoenix and plays a very important role in the wizarding war against Lord Voldemort.

Severus Snape was raised in a Muggle dwelling of Spinner’s End, which is located next to the Evans family home, although in a poor area. He met Lily and Petunia Evans, when he was nine years old, and deeply in love with Lily, becoming a close friend of her. In 1971 he began his first term at Hogwarts, where he was in Slytherin.
