Flag of Ukraine consists of two equally sized horizontal stripes – the top stripe of blue and one yellow at the bottom.

Blue half is a peaceful sky over Ukraine and country’s streams, and yellow is the color of prosperity and the country’s wheat fields.

Ukrainian flag was adopted on January 28, 1992 blue and yellow national colors of Ukraine took place in 1848 and came from the coat of arms of the city of Lviv. Ukraine has officially adopted the blue and yellow national flag in 1918. The flag is the same as the flight in 1848, yellow on top of the blue. In 1918, the colors are reversed. Ukraine gained its independence from the Soviet Union on August 24, 1991

When Ukraine was under the Soviet regime this flag is banned as a symbol of nationalism. Ukrainian SSR has its own flag.
