Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is a Japanese multinational car manufacturer based in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. In 2011, Mitsubishi Motors is the sixth largest automotive company in Japan and the sixteenth largest manufacturer in the world. Since October 2016, Mitsubishi is the third (34%) owned by Nissan, and, therefore, is part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance.

In addition to being part of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, it is also part of Mitsubishi keiretsu, the former largest industrial group in Japan, with a 66% stake in Mitsubishi Motors.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation was part of Mitsubishi Motors, but now it is separated from Mitsubishi Motors, which builds commercial grade trucks, buses and heavy construction equipment and belongs to German automotive corporation Daimler AG (though Mitsubishi continues to own a small share).

The company has vehicle manufacturing facilities in Japan, Philippines and Thailand, as well as twelve plants co-owned in partnership with others. In Brazil, there is a production agreement with a local group without direct investment from MMC. There are also three additional plants for engines and transmissions, five R&D centers and 75 subsidiaries, affiliates and partners. Its vehicles are manufactured, assembled or sold in more than 160 countries around the world.
