The Samsung Galaxy S23 is a line of high-end Android smartphones produced and marketed by Samsung Electronics as part of its flagship Galaxy S series. The phones were announced on February 7, 2023, and released on February 17, 2023.

On February 7, 2023, the Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra were revealed.

The Galaxy S23 series consists of three devices that share the same lineup and screen sizes as the Galaxy S22 series. The Galaxy S23 entry-level model has a flat 6.1-inch (155 mm) display with a variable refresh rate ranging from 48 Hz to 120 Hz, 8 GB of RAM, and storage options ranging from 128 GB to 512 GB.

The Galaxy S23+ has identical hardware but in a larger 6.6-inch (168 mm) form factor, storage options beginning at 256 GB, a faster charging rate, and a greater battery capacity.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra, at the top of the lineup, has a curved 6.8-inch (173 mm) display with a customizable refresh rate starting at 1 Hz, 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM, storage options ranging from 256 GB to 1 TB, and the highest battery capacity.

It also has a more advanced camera setup, a higher-resolution display, and an integrated S Pen for greater utility and productivity, just like the preceding Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Phantom Black, Cream, Green, Lavender, Graphite, and Lime are the six hues offered for the Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+. The Phantom Black, Cream, Green, Lavender, Graphite, Lime, Sky Blue, and Red colors are also available for the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is used in the Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. For connectivity, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Samsung Galaxy contains an Octa-Core CPU and an Adreno 740 GPU, as well as a Qualcomm X70 modem. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy is a variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that was built particularly for Samsung. The main difference between the ordinary Snapdragon and the Samsung version is that the Samsung version includes an overclocked Cortex-X3 core at 3.36 GHz rather than 3.20 GHz, and the Adreno 740 GPU has been overclocked to 719 MHz instead of 680 MHz.

5G SA/NSA/Sub6, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.4 are supported by the Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra.

Unlike prior generations, the Galaxy S23 units sold in the United States will no longer work on international carriers, despite having the necessary bands. Entering a network unlock code on these models will only unlock the carriers that are supported in that location. Users who plan to stay abroad for a short period of time can use an international plan and keep their current device, but users who plan to stay abroad for an extended duration will need to use a local carrier until they return to the United States, which means they will need to buy an additional model made for that region.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 phones came with Android 13 and Samsung’s One UI 5.1 software. Samsung Knox is integrated for better device security, and an enterprise version is available. For a total of 5 years of upgrades, Samsung has promised 4 years of major Android OS updates and 1 year of security updates.
