Light Yagami is the protagonist and the anti-hero of the anime and manga series, Death Note. The character was created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. The series was first introduced in December 2003 and ran until May 2006, with a total of 108 chapters and 37 episodes.

Background
