Springtrap is a character from the popular horror game series Five Nights at Freddy’s. He is an animatronic bunny who serves as the main antagonist in the third installment of the series. Springtrap is unique among the animatronics in the FNAF series as he is the only one to have a human inside of him.

History and Background

Springtrap’s true identity is that of William Afton, the co-owner of Fazbear Entertainment and the main villain of the FNAF series. Afton was the designer and builder of animatronics for the company, and he used these creations to lure and kill children. He was ultimately trapped inside of the Springtrap suit after an incident at one of the Freddy Fazbear locations, which caused him to be crushed and left for dead.

Years later, a horror attraction named Fazbear’s Fright was opened, and the owners of the attraction discovered the Springtrap suit in the abandoned remains of the Fazbear location. They decided to use the suit as the centerpiece of their horror attraction, not knowing that William Afton was still alive inside of it.

Appearance and Behavior

Springtrap’s appearance is that of a greenish-yellow, decrepit bunny animatronic. His fur is tattered and torn, and he has exposed wiring and metal components. The suit is visibly aged and damaged, with parts of the endoskeleton poking through the suit.

Springtrap behaves differently from the other animatronics in the FNAF series, as he actively hunts the player and is highly intelligent. He can move stealthily and can even play dead to avoid detection. When the player encounters him, Springtrap will typically lunge towards them in an attempt to catch them.
