Drew McIntyre, born on June 6, 1985, is a Scottish professional wrestler who is currently signed to WWE. He is a former WWE Champion and two-time Intercontinental Champion. McIntyre is known for his athleticism, skill, and imposing stature in the wrestling world.

Early Life and Career

McIntyre was born in Ayr, Scotland and began his wrestling career in the early 2000s. He joined the British independent wrestling scene at the age of 15 and quickly made a name for himself as a standout performer.

In 2007, McIntyre signed with WWE and was sent to its developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling. There, he honed his skills and became a top star, capturing the OVW Heavyweight Championship on two occasions.

WWE Career

McIntyre made his main roster debut in 2009 as a member of the faction, Thee Man Band, but his singles career didn’t take off until 2010 when he won the Intercontinental Championship twice and became a fan favorite.

However, a series of setbacks and injuries led to McIntyre being released from WWE in 2014. But he didn’t let that stop him from pursuing his dreams. He returned to the independent wrestling scene and competed in various promotions including TNA (now Impact Wrestling) and Insane Championship Wrestling.

McIntyre’s fortunes changed in 2017 when he was signed back to WWE and rebranded as “The Scottish Psychopath”. He quickly made a splash, dominating opponents and capturing the NXT Championship in 2018.

McIntyre’s momentum carried over to the main roster where he returned in 2018. He formed an alliance with Dolph Ziggler and together they won the Raw Tag Team Championships. However, it wasn’t until 2020 that McIntyre reached new heights when he finally won the WWE Championship from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36, becoming the first Scottish WWE Champion in history.

Outside of Wrestling

McIntyre is a multifaceted individual with a number of interests outside of wrestling. He is an accomplished musician and plays guitar, bass, and drums.

He is also a philanthropist and has dedicated his time to various charitable causes, including raising money for cancer research and working with children’s hospitals.
