Daniel Jacob Radcliffe (born July 23, 1989) is an English actor best known for his portrayal of Harry Potter in the Harry Potter film series. Radcliffe, born and reared in London, had his acting debut at the age of ten in the BBC One television film David Copperfield (1999), which was followed by his feature film debut in The Tailor of Panama (2001). Radcliffe examined both sides of his family history. Both of Radcliffe’s parents had played children. His father works as a literary agent. His mother is a casting director who has worked on several BBC productions, including The Inspector Lynley Mysteries and Walks Away and I Stumble.

Radcliffe attended three boys’ schools: Redcliffe School in Chelsea’s Redcliffe Square, Sussex House School in Chelsea’s Cadogan Square, and the City of London School on the North Bank of the River Thames in the City of London. After the first Harry Potter film was released, Radcliffe found it challenging to attend school because some of his classmates were unfriendly. Still, he claims they were merely attempting to “have a laugh at the kid who plays Harry Potter” rather than behaving out of jealously.
