Ernst & Young Global Limited, which does business as EY, is a British global professional services firm. EY is a big network of professional service firms around the world. It is one of the “Big Four” accounting companies, along with Deloitte, KPMG, and PwC. Services it offers to its customers include assurance, tax, IT services (such as managed services in areas like Cybersecurity, Cloud, Digital Transformation, and AI), consulting, and advice.

EY is made up of 395,442 employees working in over 700 offices in more than 150 countries around the world. Each member business is a separate legal entity, but they work together as a partnership. When Ernst & Whinney and Arthur Young & Co. merged in 1989, they became the current partnership of the firm. Ernst & Young was its name until a rebranding effort changed it to EY in 2013. However, the initials were already being used informally before they were officially adopted.

The seventh-largest privately owned company in the world in 2019 was EY. Fortune magazine has named EY one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For for 25 years running, longer than any other accounting business (as of 2023).

The company is split into three areas based on location: the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, India, and Africa; and Asia-Pacific.

In 2018, the company changed the lines of some of its regions. The CIS region (which worked in the former Soviet Union) and the CEE region (which worked in Eastern Europe) came together to form the CESA block.
